On Memorial Rock, located by the South Orange Duck Pond, three plaques honor 70 South Orange war heroes, who lost heir lives during past military conflicts. The three plaques list those who died during World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War.

In the Vietnam War, of the 58,077 soldiers who lost their lives, 5 were from South Orange.
Each Memorial Day, South Orange honors its fallen soldiers with a ceremony at the Memorial Rock.
