Mortimer Eisner - Obituary

Mortimer Eisner of 175 Prospect St., East Orange, president of the board of trustees of the Essex County Youth House since 1950, died yesterday in Orange Memorial Hospital. He was 74.
Mr. Eisner was born in Newark and lived in South Orange before moving to East Orange three years ago. He was graduated from Amherst College in 1917 and received a law degree from Columbia Law School five years later. He was in the Navy during World War I.
He set up a law practice in Newark in 1922 and moved his firm to East Orange last year. He served as president of the South Orange Library for three years. Mr. Eisner taught a course in evidence in Rutgers School of Law.
He was a member of the Essex County, New Jersey State and American bar associations, the Amherst Club of New York and the Newark Downtown Club.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Jeanette Goldsmith Eisner; a son, Dr. Henry of Bala Cynwid, Pa.; two daughters, Mrs. Gretchen Rachlin of South Orange and Mrs. Joan Garb of Buckingham, Pa., and six grandchildren.
